The block-like forms could be rearranged for different functions, blending playful form with practical use. Sen drew inspiration from Memphis-style tableware and kitchen objects, creating sculptural models and complementary textile and print designs as part of the visual concept.

The number “8” also echoes the infinity symbol (∞), suggesting that even the simplest materials and forms can lead to infinite creative outcomes.
Sen gave each sculpture a unique name, inspired by the associations evoked by its shape. Rather than using cold numbers, each name represents a character, an action, an object, or a place. Through these titles, she invites viewers to see the world as she imagines it—infusing each piece with emotion and narrative.
今回の展示では、約300個の木製ブロックを手作業で彩色し、88点の小さな彫刻作品を制作。限られた形と色の中で、無限とも言える構成の可能性を探求しています。数字の「8」は無限大（∞）の象徴でもあり、シンプルな素材や形から生まれる創造力の広がりを示唆しています。
各作品には番号ではなく、形から連想されるキャラクターや動作、モノ、場所にちなんだ名前が付けられており、Senの想像力あふれる世界観を観客に共有する、感情と物語性に満ちた作品群となっています。

Based on a painting created by Sen in 2019, this handmade tufting rug draws inspiration from 1980s Memphis Design. Carefully handcrafted in Japan, it translates colour and geometry into textured, layered forms. More than a functional item, it stands as an art piece within a space, bringing both energy and character.
The tufting rugs for this exhibition were produced by “tufting shop & studio RUGMATAG”.
本シリーズのタフティング作品は、アーティスト Sen が2019年に描いた絵画を原型とし、1980年代のメンフィス·デザインから着想を得ています。
⽇本のクラフトマンシップによる完全⼿作業で制作され、タフティング技法を⽤いることで、⾊彩と幾何学的要素に⽴体感と奥⾏きを与えています。⽇常のインテリアとしての実⽤性を持ちながら、空間にエネルギーをもたらすアートピースとしてもお楽しみいただけます。
